What it do.. What it do.. What it do GOOD PEOPLE! My name is Dontaz Dean and I am the founder of #Taztv410. Taztv410 is a space where we talk/debate various sports topics and spotlight past, present and future athletes from the Baltimore area and beyond! The 410 in Taztv is Baltimore’s area code and represents where I was born and raised. Our focus is to shine a positive light on my city and bring peace and happiness to my community.

My sports background includes playing pop warner football for Overlea and Chinquapin Middle School, while playing youth basketball for Leith Walk, Cecil Kirk, Oliver, Baltimore Select and Bill Spots! I was fortunate enough to win countless championships and even a national championship with Oliver.

As for high school, I attended Mergenthaler High School (Mervo) my freshman year and then transferred to Dunbar for my sophomore, junior and senior years. I played two years of football at Dunbar and played basketball all throughout high school. My freshman year at Mervo, I played JV basketball. While at Dunbar, my sophomore year, we finished second in the state tournament. During my junior and senior years, I was fortunate enough to win two state titles and one city championship in basketball. I was named back to back All Metro my junior and senior year. I was named second team as a junior and first team as a senior. I also made honorable mention as a sophomore. After Dunbar, I attended Crispus Attucks prep school and helped lead my team to a National Championship. I even had the opportunity to play in Iceland against some of their pro teams. I attend prestigious camps such as Nike All American Camp and Eastern Invitational Camp.

During prep school, I signed to Wagner early on but I eventually decommitted from Wagner and attended Seward County JC (KS) for my freshman and sophomore years.

At Seward County, my sophomore year, I was named Player of The Year in the Jayhawks Conference. After my sophomore year, I signed to Georgia State, where I played for one year and then transferred to Fort Hays State (KS) for my senior year. I was named Second Team All Conference.

Finally, when my collegiate basketball career was over, I went through some dark times and it took a lot for me to overcome it. Some people don’t understand what that means but a lot of us athletes are fighting demons everyday. For example, dealing with the everyday grind, pressure from everyone including family, homesick, feeling alone/not understood and or feeling like you have been mislead or used mentally and or physically by coaches, family, friends, media etc…. TRUST ME I UNDERSTAND!

With all of this being said, this is where my passion for sports comes from. The game of basketball has taken me all over the US and other countries. I’ve met countless friends and teammates who I have established unbreakable bonds with and til this day I refer to them as my brothers.#Taztv410 is bigger then me!!! It’s not only for my Baltimore community but also for athletes all over the world. So, if you love talking/debating sports LETS NETWORK! If you possibly have a story to tell and want to be interviewed, email me and let’s see if we can make it happen!
